While sensitivity still doesn't work in Painter, I can freely switch between it and Photoshop without it having a negative effect on my pressure in Photoshop. The only weird thing is that both this QT tablet example and RPGMaker MV break Photoshop's pen pressure when open, but Substance Painter does not. You can use the Ink Test area to test your new pen sensitivity by drawing or writing (make sure you try it. Now I personally have zero knowledge of QT other than the fact that it appears on both Substance Painter and RPGMaker MV, but I would be willing to bet that it is the root of the problem for everyone experiencing pen pressure issues. Under Pen Pressure Sensitivity, simply adjust the slider to change your pens settings. Oddly enough, RPGMaker was also built using the QT framework. Even more interesting is the fact that this exact same problem has been plaguing me for months when using RPGMaker MV. It doesn't work again until I close and re-open Photoshop.

For Genius tablets, install a 2013 or 2014 tablet driver from the Genius website, which seems to have fixed most pressure problems (many of the Genius models use the same driver, so if the update isn't listed under your model you may.

If I then minimize Photoshop and switch over to this QT tablet program and then go back to Photoshop, pen pressure suddenly stops working in Photoshop. Earlier Genius tablet drivers (which may be the ones on the CD in the box) have known Wintab pressure problems. If I open Photoshop and draw, pen pressure works perfectly normal.

The interesting part though is how it causes my other software to behave.

Drawing in the empty space of the windows does absolutely nothing, but I assume it's supposed to be drawing lines, right? Upon opening the program, I can't really do anything with it. I tried out the QT tablet program that Froyok posted in this topic and I made an interesting discovery. 6 x 8 working area for drawing and handwriting 1024-level pressure sensitivity for all shapes and thickness control Make handwriting notes/drawings. I tried out the QT tablet program that Froyok posted in this topic and I made an interesting discovery. Unfortunately, I ran into the exact same issue: pen pressure works fine in Photoshop and ZBrush, but no pressure sensitivity at all in Substance Painter.

Photoshop checks your pen before enabling the pressure sensitivity check. For some unknown reason, many of the knockoff tablet vendors. This following quick-fix has helped a lot of users whose photoshop pen pressure stopped working. You need to contact the makers of your tablet. Unfortunately, I ran into the exact same issue: pen pressure works fine in Photoshop and ZBrush, but no pressure sensitivity at all in Substance Painter. The problem is with the driver for your tablet. But today I got the chance to borrow a Monoprice TWA60 so I decided to fire up Painter and give it a try. I never did solve them, even after updating my drivers. I've gone through uninstalling-reinstalling, plugging in-out-in-out-in-out, and even tried installing the latest versions of the driver twice.I made a post a while back about issues that I was having with Painter and my Genius tablet.

It's an exchange policy rather than refunds and because it was the last tablet they had I'm hopeless for that. How can it be any good But, like I said, I've never used one, so maybe the Genius Tablet is a fantastic deal. I just bought my tablet yesterday from a sort of school/office supplies store and the sales ladies didn't seem to know much about it anyways. I did find a 6x8 Genius Tablet for sale in the UK for 33.17, but frankly, that seems almost too cheap. I usually work on Paint Tool Sai and I used to work with a different generic brand tablet. Here is a tweet I posted with a screenshot I can not easily do that because I live in the Philippines. They can make a huge difference in your editing workflow, both in terms of precision and efficiency.

I also posted this on Yahoo! Answers but the 1 guy who answered was telling me that I'm using a Mac model that's too advanced (I'm not even using a Mac? See the screenshot in the Tweet below) and that I bought the wrong pen? What this is the pen that came with it? Not only that he told me to call the developers of Paint Tool SAI or the pen's manufacturers. By far, one of the best investments a photographer can make is a pressure-sensitive pen tablet.
